Hello Cut-Throat,what a dilemma with a 45-amp and a speaker with 104dB... you shoulkd get more than loud listening levels with 1W for 104dB.
But that's another thing, and now to your question. I think your amp is not stable enough at short dynamic attacks, like you have i.e. in a symphony. Mostly the problem is the power supply which doesn't have enough energy storage.
Let me suggest another solution... if you're not bonded for SET, take the 45 tubes you're loving and make a 45-pp-amp. It will deliver an excellent solution.Good luck
