How can I possibly enjoy a 45 amp that only has 1.8 watts of power?..........

I have had a pair of Welborne DRD45s going on about 3 years. They drive a pair of Modifed Khorns with Altec Midrange. I'm really satisfied in every way with the amps and speakers.

But, since I am an Audiophile, I cannot be satisfied, I have to Putz with something. So often you hear folks say that 1.8 watts will not give you 'headroom' with complicated musical pieces, and you have to have more power. I have a pair of 2A3 Welborne 'Moondogs' that have 3.5 watts per channel, but I like the 45 amps better.

So I am open to suggestions about what 'More Powerful' Amps I should look at. Kits are nice, I like to build them and you save a few Bucks. How many watts do I need? What topography? Can I improve on my Welborne DRD45s?
