Re: A comparison of two 6sn7 circuits.

The one I sent you is the srpp. It was the day after than a seperate fi primer was completed. I have 4 srpp pre's and only one fi primer pre.

What happened was that John's original amps were fi primer 6sn7/300b's. At one point when he started building seperate pre's, he switched to the srpp circuit because he read it was cleaner with less distortion. There is no doubt that they have an excellent sound.

But I was hearing qualities in the older fi amps that were fascinating me. So I said wait a minute, lets go back and see how the fi primer compares.

It's is very easy in audio to throw out the baby with the bathwater!!!! It's been happening in the whole history of audio.

The speakers I used are the ones up here in the attic. I used the omega super 3's on my desktop where I can hear everything. I also used the galante symphonys, and the nearfield abbys.

It enhanced the sound of everything, but I can only put the fi pre in one spot so I put it with the 27/45 with the abbys. I favored putting it with the 45. Next one I get will go with your f200a's and the 27/45 there.
