I would use the ultra-clear, zero-effect 45 were it not that I need more power and frequency range than any 45/speaker I've heard can do. So I've settled on the Wright WPA3.5. It's very transparent, colorless and immediate, which allows me to 'tune' with transducers. Every 300B I have heard has a family sound that I find additive, so not my preference. I call the sound 'burnished', and I think of it as occurring most in the range of trombones. It can be very exciting, and I have heard some nice systems built around 300Bs; but none I would opt for over a 2A3, given that met my power requirements. Meanwhile, many are surprized when a 2A3 doesn't work a 'tube magic' fix on their system's problems; and the 300B might well be able to do this.Paul S
