"In general in all the Gemini's I have sold, I think proabably 80% have stuck with the 45's. Says what I have always said, it's just a better tube than the 2A3. The TJ 2A3 is nice and that is what the other 20% are using."Noting your qualifier, in my brief time (3 months) with my Moth s45 I've always returned to the 45 (any 45) over the Sovteks or the RCA (gy) bi-plates. The ST 45s I have include National-Union, Silvertone Super, Arcturus, RCA/Victor. IMS, the 45 is more neutral, analytic and just "real". Even if not the best match IMS, the slight edginess I can get with the 45s is accepted and prefered to the veiled 2a3s. IMS the two outstanding qualities of the 45 are their natural "rightness" and the articulate&propulsive bass. Unlike yourself, I do not have much in the way of Globes, only singles; Triad, RCA, Philco, Arcturus. With this motley crue I've not had a "Globe experience" of merit. Then again, with my speakers I figure I'm pushing my luck with the STs, let alone the Globes. Perhaps...
