The biggest difference between the respresentative Globe 45 and the average ST is the property the globes have, of having more of the "more", or more "there" , or more of whatever it is. There is no huge difference, but something more around the edges of the notes, a tone or a sound, some harmonic or presence on the edges of the tone. A bit more of the spooky realism, the reach out and touch character of the 45. A bit more magic.My listening impressions of the Vaic are that they are indeed similar to the globes, they have the reach out and touch the notes character, if not the magic around the edges - which is a distortion, after all. Generally, the Vaic 45 is a superb and eerily real sound.
