I must say that I have the same type of feeling you do with my 12B4 parafeed and the OTL monoblocks I built. I use Newform research 630's for speakers and I only get about 1 good watt out of the parafeed 12B4 when compared to at least 50 from the OTL. If someone were to give me an ultimatum, I would go with the 12B4 amp in a heartbeat despite not being able to reach louder SPL's.I guess one of the downsides of DIY is that you'd have a tough time trying to sell an amp you've built unless it were a prefabricated kit. Even then, you have reservations about selling it due to sentimental value/pride of accomplishment.
