Ok, I'll be the lone dessenter.
Barring tone, detail etc. for now, 300Bs DO have more sheer SLAM than lower powered DHTs in my system.
There is a limit to sheer slam/macrdynamics as one goes down in power. Its not a case of volume, since my listening habbits are like yours, and i can still reach volumes high enough to annoy my neighbors with my 1.6 watt 10 amps. It is noticable on my 100db speakers. it was noticable going from 300B to 2A3 and from 2A3 to 10s.
With most types of music, its not an issue, but sometimes it shows itself, in bass *slam*. The difference was noticable going back up in power as well.
Those who biamp, probably don't run into this problem, since the bass region is powered by a much more powerfull amp. I suspect the same is true for those with bass challanged speakers.
try for yourself, and see what you think.
