Paul, interesting post -- greater dynamics with less power. I'm using 300b's with Ariel 7's. Without investing in 2A3's, can I simulate this effect by simply changing to a different operating point on my 300B's? Also, I sometimes wonder about the discriptive words we audio nuts throw around. I wonder if everyone is thinking of the same thing when they hear the word "dynamic," for example. The poster said he was looking for more "slam." This is something I'd like more of with my SE amps, too. I've found that PP offers tighter, more controlled bass and that seems to me to, in turn, offer more "slam." I'm also wondering about the relationship between slam and the size and travel of the woofer cone. Any thoughts?
