Susie & I lived 7 miles down the road from this gig. On Friday we went as guests, there were a total of maybe 10-14 paying customers. This for a bill that that had the Dead, Quicksilver and unannounced Big Brother & Janis on it. The next night the crowd swelled to over 25....maybe 30. Garcia said to us that he loved the redwoods and hoped to live among them in Marin County someday, he did do that eventually. It was during this gig that I suggested they play at a party I was having in the near future. They agreed to it and on a date lost in the fog of time we had the party at my house which was located in Memorial Park, in Loma Mar which is maybe 10 miles from La Honda. I had a strobe light in the bath room and dialed in a setting for it that made water appear to flow backwards. Guys on acid were stunned when they stood there and peed. At one point there were 4 people in the shower watching the water flow up off of their bodies and into the nozzle. Over the years I have been asked if i had a set list...
As to the Deadlist, I was at all but 3 of the Acid Tests in 1965.
