Oh ho ho. 35 years ago, while we were out playing ball, someone brought the Saraya cassette. Because they were from New Jersey, their record label wanted them to be "the next Bon Jovi." But with Sandi Saraya's vocals, you could argue that Saraya were better than Bon Jovi. Those who know, have long known that Sandi was one of rock's best female vocalists.

"Love Has Taken Its Toll" seemed to hit us at the right time. You see, my friends had been together for a year or two, and no one had a boyfriend or girlfriend, so we only had each other. Seemed kind of lame, that when we went to our school's dances, we really only danced (and I use the word "danced" lightly) amongst ourselves.

But "Love Has Taken Its Toll" kicked out the jams, and we took the field with gusto and spirit. Alas, that didn't stop a grounder, from hitting Karen (who usually played second base) smack dab in the kneecap (above).
