I was recently with my old middle school friend, Tommy, on San Francisco's Union Street. He was reminiscing about those days, which, alas, were 40 years ago. He asked, "What is this neighborhood called? It isn't the Marina, and it isn't Cow Hollow."
Tommy's daughter was probably rolling her eyes, but Tommy recalled his parents taking him through this neighborhood. Because it was kind of ritzy, he felt uncomfortable. But when Rufus & Chaka Khan's "Ain't Nobody" came on, "None of that mattered. You just felt good ."
And sure enough, as I drove away, and headed towards Broadway & Battery (to get to the Bay Bridge), "Ain't Nobody" came on the radio. And you just felt good .
