A Sound from Philadelphia

Before pop music became divided by the race of the performers, pop music caught the ear of everybody from the big city to the 'burbs and out into the smaller towns via AM radio. Thom Bell was one the creative voices that composed, arranged, conducted, and produced the music that was born in Philly and made the US dance. Mr Bell died last month at the age of 79 and NPR dove into the archives to bring back their 2006 interview of Mr Bell by Terry Gross. If you still have those earworms of songs that you or your parents sang along with in the 60s and 70s or if you want to know how pop music is made, the interview is worth your time.
