Mr. Big, "All The Way Up"

Ten years ago, my old friend Kuma, who lived in Sea-Tac, was back in our hometown of San Francisco. Among other places, she wanted to go back to Japantown, see how it had changed. At Kinokuniya Bookstore, she noticed that anime and manga had overtaken much of the shelf space. Just a couple of imported-from-Japan magazines were available. But one was of music, and Kuma found it interesting, that Mr. Big were still popular in Japan.

It turned out that, with guitarist Paul Gilbert back in the fold, Mr. Big had the original lineup. Apparently, the band had a new album, What If... . Kuma and I originally heard Mr. Big in 1989. Eventually, we borrowed What If... , and she thought they sounded just as good as ever, with lead singer Eric Martin not skipping a beat, or losing any bit of his range.

Kuma's favorite was "All The Way Up." Unbeknownst to us, there was/is a video for that song. It takes time, effort, patience, and skilled communications, but Kuma will partner with me, on an upcoming audio product review post.
