"Hey hey hey," emailed an Inmate, "When it comes to 1996, don't forget about my favorite," Garbage's "Stupid Girl."
Notice that the tenth person to form a human pyramid is missing? That tenth person was yours truly, who had to take the photo. No cameraphones, back then. If you included me, the ratio was 7:3, girl:boy. That's been the case, ever since the late-80s. Some of my friends went to USF, and even if we didn't go there for school, some of us were Catholic, and we'd go to Mass at St. Ignatius.
But anyway, when it came to Garbage's "Stupid Girl," our girls interpreted it as, "We better make up our minds, about what we want to be, and where we want to go."
In 1996, because I'd meet other customers at San Francisco's Ultimate Sound, you'd exchange numbers, and plan to meet, outside of work. Yes, Garbage's "Stupid Girl" was one, which was played at other Bay Area audiophiles' homes. And you can still picture in your mind, some of the audio products, from brands like Adcom, Audio Alchemy, CAL, Conrad-Johnson/Sonographe, NHT, Rega, VPI, and more.
