Great White, "Desert Moon"

When we were in high school in the late-80s, being on the west coast meant enjoying the blues-based, Led Zep-like hard rock of SoCal's Great White. In fact, some friends and I saw them (with MSG opening) in late 1989, at The Warfield in San Francisco.

And during the Spring 1991 quarter, Great White came out with "Desert Moon." By then, I had friends at coastal UC schools in San Diego, Irvine, L.A., and Santa Barbara (in photo above, we had to watch out for oil spills). Heck, others went to the State Universities at San Diego, Long Beach, and San Francisco. And I attended UC Santa Cruz. So we all hit the coast, and let "Desert Moon" enhance the vibe.

Still, the band probably wished and hoped that it could expand beyond just the California coast :-)
