For those of us who went to college in the early-to-mid 90s, The Ocean Blue were a major influence. The Smiths and Echo & The Bunnymen were obvious influences.
My girlfriend of the early-2000s, TLS, entered college in 1992. But when we were dating, full-time work took up most of her time, and she only took one class at a time.
In 2001, when The Ocean Blue came out with Davy Jones' Locker , TLS, who was into EDM, had not heard of them. Nevertheless, TLS' and my favorite was "Denmark." When we shared it with audiophile friends, they liked it, to.
I got into TLS' little mid-90s 2-door Honda Civic EX sedan, and we met up with her friends in SoCal. On the way back home to San Francisco, TLS and I took 101. We did not stop off at Solvang, which supposedly had Danish architecture and restaurants. It's getting safer to travel, so maybe later this year, my family will get to visit Solvang. In the meantime, we can't believe that we've been listening to The Ocean Blue's Davy Jones' Locker for 20 years now.
