With SIP, people need to get out. Thus, demand for parks and open space is at an all-time high. Here in the Bay Area, wildfires, smoke, COVID, king tides, algal blooms, construction, and even floods have caused park closures.

One of my former colleagues was able to go out, and hike up Mission Peak in Fremont. Notice that thin clouds are streaming in, leading to today's rain. The Bay waters are brown, and the East Bay hills, despite bone-dry conditions, do have some greenery.

Anyway, she turns us on to the Smashing Pumpkins' new song, "Cyr." Used to the band's distorted sound of the 90s, she doesn't quite know what to make of their new wave/synth-pop "Cyr."
