During holidays 1985, we did not yet have video game consoles. We set out the Lego base plates on the floor, and built a city. Then we added Transformers, Robotech mecha, and G.I. Joes. And of course, music would be playing. For a brief moment, New Edition's boppy "A Little Bit Of Love (Is All It Takes)" made us stop playing with our toys.
Funny thing was, when "A Little Bit Of Love (Is All It Takes)" played at dances, we boys wanted to boogie, but were too afraid and embarrassed. We just put down our heads, and stared at the floor.
When we were in college in the early-to-mid 90s, perhaps "A Little Bit Of Love (Is All It Takes)" was played as part of the "throwback jams." Okay, so when that played, and a coed passed by, you put down the book or video game controller.
In the late-90s, when "A Little Bit Of Love (Is All It Takes)" played, and the girlfriends called, paged, or emailed, you put down the Stereophile and TAS.
Today, "A Little Bit Of Love (Is All It Takes)" plays, and when the wife gives you the look, you can avert Audio Asylum :-)
