Without inserting any commas, one local Bay Area audiophile emailed, "Goddamn Lummy I haven't heard these either."
Five years ago, I was working in San Francisco, and my coworkers and I did not know that Chris Isaak had a new album, First Comes The Night . Maybe that's why Chris Isaak was not at Ocean Beach, above :-)
A couple of girlfriends went to Japan, and stayed at a ryokan. The mixed-gender onsen required a bathing suit (yuck), but of course, in your own room, you go without.
My friends said that, to their pleasant surprise, CD sales seemed brisk. And one big store was promoting, among others, Chris Isaak's First Comes The Night . Here, Isaak doesn't really break new ground. Instead, he's refined his craft. Perhaps our favorite is "Perfect Lover." My friends came back to the Bay Area, where physical media weren't selling. You really have to scour brick-and-mortar stores for this. Or, just download it.
