Kingdom Come, "Twilight Cruiser"

Over on General Asylum, the writing partner on the latest PAC IDOS post is a guy who refers to himself as a "lapsed Inmate," who hasn't logged in or posted in years. He says that most audiophiles he knows are exactly like that. They "lurk and read, and don't post. If they find anything interesting, maybe they reach out to the OP."

LI and I were talking about subcompact cars of the late-80s to early-00s. "I was wrong," he emailed, "My daughter informed me that the [Toyota] Echo was a sedan," not a hatchback as he had thought.

I wrote back that, in the mid-90s, my girlfriend ACS had a red 1995 Toyota Tercel. And that's how we got around. In 95/96, ACS and I were bowling partners. Our league was on Saturdays at 6:00p, at San Francisco's Japantown Bowl. Afterward, we'd wash up, and meet up with friends for dinner. ACS and I liked to hit record stores. I'm not sure which Tower Records had Kingdom Come's Twilight Cruiser .

LI laughs, "So the lil' Tercel was your Twilight Cruiser?!"

Kingdom Come's Lenny Wolf soldiered on, went back to his native Germany, and recruited new musicians. He continues his Robert Plant ripoff, on this album. Still, we've always liked the title track. Yet, no, I do not recall us using "Twilight Cruiser" at audio shows or stores. Nah, "Twilight Cruiser" did not magically transform the Tercel into a bigger, smoother, more powerful car.
