30 years ago, a record store along Santa Cruz's Pacific Avenue Mall had 12x12 artwork from Megadeth's new album, Rust In Peace . I brought some back to my dorm room, posted them on the door and walls.
The leadoff single, "Holy Wars...The Punishment Due" was actually two songs in one, separated by a Marty Friedman bridge. Both are about religious strife. This song was one of the keys, in the mainstreaming of thrash metal.
If you found the original 1990 cassette, CD, and LP to sound thin and hazy, seek out the SHM-CD. The SHM-CD sports cleaner sonics, with images which are more stable and 3D.
