From Classic Rock to Progessive to hip hop to today's hot new tunes!

One of my audiophile friends looked back, and emailed, "I don't think I heard the term alternative rock until 1989."

I replied, "That sounds about right to me."

He added, "When I first heard The Cure, they were lumped in with modern rock ."

I continued, "Here in SF, the radio station KITS billed itself as 'modern rock'. KITS played stuff like The Cure."

The audiophile said that "Close To Me" was the first Cure song identified to him. While there are too many Cure songs to pick just one, he said that going back to "Close To Me" does feel good.
