News breaking. Death from cancer at age 69.
In the early 70s one of my college friends introduced me to Hunky Dory. Then Ziggy Stardust came out and I played it for months. The Ziggy Stardust tour played Memorial Hall in Kansas City and it was memorable. Not well attended as I recall, as he was still a cult item in the Midwest.
I followed him over the years, never quite as interested in his later albums. His newest is out this week to excellent reviews.
So this comes as a surprise and I am sorry to hear it.
