Read yesterday that O'Brother came out 15 years ago - time does fly. Played it last night (SACD). Reminded me of a set of circumstances that led to my becoming a fan of Americana.

I had been listening to a little Alison Krauss at the time, recognizing that her recordings were very good, as was her angelic voice. My wife and son go to the movies and see O'Brother - they love it so much they buy the soundtrack on the way home. I put it on and bam - there's Alison and half her band! That was my introduction to Americana which I find my favorite genre to this day.

Wish AKUS would put out something new and fresh.
