frampton was on the fillmore live album, but left before it was released. then clem clempson joined humble pie from colloseum (sp?) who had some good songs, but not great albums (that i have heard, at least). with clempson they recorded the great smokin' LP but after that point started a downhill slide. the next album, eat it, has some great material on it, but did not live up to expectations. thunderbox and street rats have some very good songs on them, but dont really hold up to the early albums. imho, the self titled 3rd album is their best studio record (showcasing frampton at his peak) but most don't seem to concur with that assessment. rock on and the first album, safe as yesterday, are also super.
many of the HP bootlegs (avail. on cd, rarely if ever on LP) are generally worthwhile also.
yeah its a band that has meant a lot to me.
