Let me jump in here. Sorry guys, I've been at the CES in Vegas....Here's what I think; I think it's the solid core wire, not the silver.
I have tried it both ways and think that perhaps there's an improvement with solid core vs. the stranded. I like solid copper better than solid silver.
I am not hearing a huge change as you have described however and am hesitant to make a change to the amp itself.
Let me play some more and we'll see. The stranded still has its charms.
I've actually been doing a lot of work lately on wire (as you may know) and have found that a combination of both solid core and stranded seems to be the ticket (but not silver).
The new speaker cables we are introducing have both solid core and stranded conductors.
