DIY THHN Home Depot speaker cable

Hi Paul:

I could have sworn that I saw a posting of yours' describing DIY speaker cables made from various gauges of THHN wire; but I'll be darned if I can find it...

At any rate, could you specify the gauges again, and are you supposed to twist them together?
