The audio terms "objectivist" and "subjectivist" have nothing to do with Ayn Rand's philosophy, as far as I know. Perhaps some people who are better acquainted with the history of the split among audiophiles can shed light on the meaning of these terms. I certainly didn't intend to imply that you were a follower of Ayn Rand.

As I see it, the main difference between audio objectivists and the audio subjectivists is the former's emphasis on the objective phenomena of sound waves and their effect on perception vs. the latter's emphasis on the the mental states created while listening (cognition and emotion).
