RE: It's a marketing slogan not a scientific definition

So, basically you stand by your rubbish understanding of what the man on the street would make of "Perfect Sound Forever"?? Not surprising. One last time, the man on the street understood it as BETTER sound that won't deteriorate. Everyone I have ever talked to about this slogan comes to the same conclusion and its not yours. Therefore, while it may have been false, it was not particluarly ambiguous like you hypothesize. It is a clear statement that the cd was to surpass all previous analog media in terms of sound quality and ruggedness, which in some ways it did.
