Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

Yes, I was fishing for your conception of 'tweak.'

The usual meaning of 'tweak' is to make subtle adjustments to improve performance of a machine. Your DIY speakers, with computer modeling and CAD, would seem to qualify, since you could have bought production speakers that use the same drivers.

Instead, you use the word in a pejorative sense. You gave yourself away by including cable risers in a list containing blatant humbugs. Computer models are only as good as the effort put into verifying them; the effects of cable risers are immediately obvious. Committing your sonic performance to canned computer models displays far more trust than simply listening without and with cable lifters in place.
