RE: Perfect Sound: "Science" not Marketing

Reading comprehension problems? Perfect Sound Forever: You claim this meant to the "man on the street" no degradation in sound with time. Let's break down what the phrase means...

Perfect = the absence of flaws
Sound = waves our ears perceive as an external noise
Forever = lasting into an indefinite future (ie. never ending)

Your explanation of what this phrase means only captures the Forever part of the phrase and does not at all address the Perfect Sound part of it. I know that for most people I know who gave up LPs or tapes it was because cd was "less noisy" and "less clicks and pops" and/or convenience but had little to nothing to do with the fact that they didn't wear out.

Therefore, I would say it is your "man on the street" with the skewed understanding of what this catchphrase means and that Tony has understood it quite clearly.
