Could be, the interesting thing is that some sound better on one, some on the other, and it's consistent. One of these days I'll try to figure it out but meanwhile I appreciate having an option. Between the two players and the polarity button on the DAC I can get good sound from almost any CD.

I use a computer as my source in the study and am quite pleased with it. I even found a similar drive favoritism with it but now need to go back and retest as I've changed some of the configuration. I concur that they seem endlessly tweakable via software be it a blessing or curse.

I like to listen to classical radio while I work and my local station got a new transmitter a while back featuring a fancy EQ and compressor. They have put them to good use and now the on-air signal is unlistenable except in a convertible going 60 with the top down. Fortunately their stream is still OK and I have the computer... This is progress?
