There's A Difference Between What Happens In Reality Andy

Once again you're showing how much of an arrogant ass you can be. You've never heard of something that in theory should work a certain way, yet when practically applied doesn't?

I know what Newton's law is, but apparently loudspeaker designers know about other factors that are playing a part to prevents a speaker from stopping as fast as it starts. I've noticed you only want to argue this point with me --- someone who dosen't design and build speakers --- even though I gave you a direct link to where Brain Cheney agreed with Bo Bengtsson's statement. For some strange reason you don't seem to want to argue your postion about Newton's law with Brain. I wonder why? What's the matter Andy are you afraid Brian knows exactly what other factors are preventing a speaker from stopping as fast as it starts when designing and building speakers? Hmmmm?

Your problem Andy is you only want to pretend only this one part of Newton's law in this equation but, apparently with a drivers other factors besides that one part of Newton's law needs to be considered. For an example of what I'm attempting to get you to understand consider Newton's law of gravity which defines the attractive force between all objects that possess mass. According to this law if we dropped a ball on a string the ball & string should drop, no? Hmmm Andy did you ever consider that gravity might also effect a driver and possibly be one of the factors that prevents a speaker from stopping as quickly as it starts?

But if we took that same ball and string and grabbed the end of the string and began to spin it in a circle, centripetal force would become a factor that prevents the ball from falling to the ground --- as long as the ball is spun that is! So Andy would that mean I believed the law of gravity ceased to behave as Newton stated it would? Absolutely not! I'd simply realize that other additional factors at that moment prevented the ball from instantly falling like the law of gravity stated it should. That's precisely what I'm stating is happening with a speaker's driver! Just like I realize "if" one applied the same force used to accelerate the loudspeaker in the opposite direction then it would slow down at the same rate it accelerated , I understand that other factors like perhaps gravity, friction, the size & strength of the driver's motors, or even always magnetic self-damping are preventing that from actually happening!

That's why I originally stated " In theory applying the same force to accelerate a loudspeaker's driver in the opposite direction will slow down it at the same rate it's accelerated but, that only occurs with a theoretically perfect loudspeaker's driver. However a perfect driver doesn't exist. " But you took exception to that statement and kept insisting that Newton's law would cause the speaker to stop as quickly as it started. As if there a perfect driver to which only that one part of Newton's law applies Andy. Now if wish to continue to believe my statement is incorrect and you're correct then please follow my link below and argue your completely assinine POV with Mr Cheney. I have to admit I'd love to see you attempt to do that!

Finally yes I don't want to be like you for a myriad of reasons but, apparently we both argue a POV we consider to be correct. The only problem is when it's not you doing it you act like an arrogant ass and pretend only others like myself behave that way.
