The collapse of the plasma depends on what TubeGuy includes in his DC. But whether he was referring to DC as the audio signal or audio signal plus bias makes no difference to the pop or bang after the DC signal is removed.

At least you made it a statement of your knowledge (or lack of) so I cannot disagree with it. But if you want to find out it is easy enough to look up in the scientific press.
