RE: Brain What's Your Thoughts On This?

Well I design ribbon (push-pull planar magnetic) speakers as well, and must agree. F=MA, and there are limits to the size and strenth of loudspeaker motors, plus there's always magnetic self-damping to contend with.

My mid panel extends to below 200Hz and features about 900mg of moving mass. The G2 and G3 ribbon tweeters (readily available) I like are in the 13 to 25mg MM range, with huge neodymium motors (more than 1 kg). Less mass, less inertia, make for a speaker that is more revealing of detail.
Watch those in-band resonances, however. As an added bonus, the "voicecoils" are fully exposed to the air which provides cooling, meaning much less thermally-induced compression.

In the bass range the low mass of planars works against them, so light diaphragm, big motor cones are my choice there. Fortunately the ear is less sensitive to typical cone dynamic errors in the bass range.
