Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

I hear it often if it don't often sound like dog poop or painful it ain't accurate!

It's a joke listen to some of these guys. I bought a nice quality audio system that sounds really good to great on just about every quality of recording I can buy.

Apparently it's not painful enough or doesn't sound shitty enough to qualify as hifi - it's colorfi, midfi or just plain crap at best.

Heck lo-fi and broken, mismatched expensive systems sound great on some recordings and crappy on others - how's this different from the stuff some of these "audiophiles" proudly proclaim as accurate or true high end systems. Far as I can tell these comments about shitty sound or no pain no gain is nothing but an attempt to justify owning a truly expensive and truly crappy audio system.

It's somekind of philosophy some marketeer or dealer started to convince their customers that owning crappy sounding systems was a reflection of their good taste along with a preference for accuracy.
