In theory DBTs are good. In prectice I don't think they work but only because of the way they are conducted.

If a DBT could be preformed "long term", in one's own home, that would be fine. By long term I mean weeks not days or minutes.

Real differences can be very subtle and can't be detected in a quick A/B listening test. One needs to "live with it" and let it all sink in.

IMO the best way to tell if there is a difference is to live with a change for a week or two and then try to go back. Upon going back, back to the system before the change, one will know if there is a difference and if that difference was an improvement or not.

This could be done blind. You would need someone else to help but it could be done.
