Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

Actually I egged Pat on a bit...

...albeit unintentionally.

Pat wrote to Clark Johnsen above

"Is this a deliberate misunderstanding? The "demand" is for ourselves, what we require.

The only "demand" is for ourselves, that we require some proof before we will believe extraordinary claims. That may hurt some egos, that we don't believe extraordinary claims such as hearing the difference between discs treated by the GSIC and the same discs not treated. But that's not our problem."

My cheeky response: "What is your problem then? Collectively speaking, I see this notion being used to excuse some terribly poor behavior."

I don't consider Pat to exhibit poor behavior and was talking collectively about the group that Pat appears to identify with, i.e., the group around here that is noted for demanding proof.

Pat has every right to believe, or disbelieve, any claim presented around here. Our disagreement seems to be over whether the proof this group seeks is a universal requirement that should be honored, or not.

I say not.
