It all boils down to what you consider bad

I consider compression bad. But most of my favorite recordings are compressed to one extent or another.

I consider ping-pongy stereo effects bad. Virtually every pop recording from the 60s and many current ones fall under that category. Since that is when I started listening to music, I have many, many favorites that suffer that malady.

I consider bandwidth limiting to be bad. Yet I have few recordings that deliver truly wide frequency extremes and many old ones just sound thin.
