RE: "sound bad because what was recorded actually sounds bad."

Over the years, when I had decent systems, I only ran into a handful of recordings that sounded bad. When I had bad systems it wasn't unusual to run into recordings that sounded bad.

You're talking to a guy who listens to a lot of music and has owned several different systems over the years.

When you say - "If some recordings sound good and some sound bad on the same system, then clearly it is NOT the system that is fundamentally flawed."

I say that comment reflects my experiences with bad audio systems. My experiences are that on a good audio system very few recording sound bad. It's just that simple!

You act like I don't understand you or some of these other guys - it's the furthest thing from the truth. I perfectly understand and have experienced the same reality which they are currently embracing.
