I enjoy recordings that sound great, but I prefer great recordings, regardless of their sonics. I became a music collector in 1971 and didn't buy my first piece of audiophile gear until 17 years later. 18 years after that, I sold my expensive audiophile gear to buy... guess what?... more records. Give me more music over higher priced hardware anyday. Not much point in driving a Maserati if you have no gas and nowhere to go.

The only "bad sound" that has ever come from my stereo is when I first listened to The Band's "The Last Waltz" and heard this gritty, fingernails on a chalkboard voice that turned out to be Neil Diamond. I skipped that track and have had nothing but good sound ever since. :)
