RE: A thought about the difficulty of subjective evaluation of music

I've participated in or witnessed several blind tests of audio equipment, including cables, that essentially proved there were differences (or at least showed strong evidence). These blind tests were done over a few years and were done primarily to show that differences do exist in components that many of our clueless pseudo-scientific friends believe do not. Once you've done that, there's no real need to blind test everything, particularly when the blind tests show the same differences as the sighted test i.e when the component exhibits the same sonic signature blind as sighted (harsh, dry, boomy, etc).
