argument?

I made no "argument". Rather I just described the real-world process of how vinyl records are produced.

The level of degradation in LP production is heavily a function of the care taken by the production plant. How clean is the production area? How pure are their plating chemicals? What is the quality of the vinyl? How experienced are the production operators, all the way from the initial cutting to the stamping end of things? Do they take care in the process or do they use stampers past their useful life and engage in other shortcuts? And so on...

Anyone who seriously listens to vinyl knows just how variable things are. What is surprising, considering the LP production process (not counting the transfer from the master tape, you have a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy) is just how good the best LPs can be. It is just a pity that only a few reach their potential.

Of course, I can same much the same about any other music format. ;-)
