Your Logical Fallacy easily proven wrong:

Objectivists may make measurements to be sure a component is operating within stated manufacturer specifications ... but when it comes to listening: Objective audiophiles ARE MUCH MORE SUBJECTIVE than Golden Ears like you!

Measurements can not matter to objective audiophiles because objective audiophiles will never know what component is in use!

Objective audiophiles hide brand names and match volumes at 1000Hz. to PROVE to themselves (and witnesses) they can REALLY hear a difference between two amplifiers, BEFORE they pontificate about their "sound qualities".

And when they pontificate about the sound qualities -- there will be no bias from knowing brand names, and no bias from comparing two products playing music at different average SPL's = It will be a pure subjective opinion on sound quality ALONE.

Of course an objective audiophile can still exaggerate what he has heard, and have sound quality preferences/interpretations much different than the average audiophile. But at least he can prove he can hear an A-B difference BEFORE he states his opinion on sound quality.

A subjective audiophile doesn't care about tests or proof of audibility:
- It's easier to claim one has Golden Ears (or Silver Ears) when one never tests them in front of witnesses (I'm sure you'd agree with that).

Subjectivists WANT to know the brand names in use so they know what to say (parrot the latest high end journal review, I suppose), and DON'T WANT to match A-B volumes (those meaningless SPL differences can be audible) because they don't want a fair comparison!

Of course subjectivists will claim they could NEVER mistake a small A-B SPL difference for a meaningful sound quality difference ... because they always know what they hear and never make mistakes (they would never admit to the possibility that their ears/brain are less than perfect ... nor would they ever participate in a public demonstration of their "Everything Sounds Different" belief in front of witnesses to demonstrate their imperfect hearing abilities!)

Hopefully you now better understand the differences between subjective and objective audiophiles.

If measurements could bias an audition, then ONLY subjective audiophiles would be vulnerable to that bias, because ONLY subjective audiophiles would know what brand/model component was in use during the audition!

And certainly you are not implying any objective audiophile would judge an audio component solely by measurements, without an audition?

Yet many Golden Ears WILL "judge" the sound quality of a stereo system merely by reading the components list!

Especially systems owned by objective audiophiles!

But objective audiophiles would NEVER stoop so low as to comment on sound quality WITHOUT LISTENING TO THE SYSTEM!
