A quick glance through Harry Pearson's recommended list (link below) shows many, many recordings from studios that are highly likely to have used non-discrete circuitry, op-amps, standard grade cables, feedback loops, etc. in either the recording, mastering, or both.
True, many of his picks are old enough to have been recorded on gear that we would now consider purist, but if they were mastered to CD prior to about 2000, they were probably subjected to the circuitry listed above.
