Blah Blah Blah distortion Blah Blah Blah subjective Blah Blah Blah some like it Blah Blah Blah who knows why? Blah Blah

Your white paper (post) would be easier for the original poster to understand if you'd said -30dB (3%) is probably the threshhold of audibility above 80Hz., and -20dB (10%) is probably the threshold of audibility under 80Hz., while listening to typical complex music.

Your 20Hz. example is moot since 20Hz. output at an audible level is so rare in two-channel recordings, and 20Hz. is felt as pressurization on the body more than heard as a tone by most people (unless the harmonic distortion at 40Hz. and higher is loud enough to be audible)!

Much lower levels of distortion can be heard with sinewave test tones, for those who prefer listening to sinewave test tones.

And even if the harmonic distortion is audible, the listener may PREFER the "richness" from harmonics added to the music content (particularly those audio amish who prefer vinyl and tubes)
