Technical and scientific discussion of amps, cables and other topics.

I gave your brain time to rest, but alas, you're confused, as usual

"What does that (using headphones) have to do with the ability to hear differences between different amplifiers, cables, etc.?"
RG replies:
Headphones are usually plugged into headphone jacks and not connected to the speaker terminals of an amp, but even if they were connected to the speaker terminals, the use of headphones would eliminate the masking effects from room reverberations, 1/4 wavelength cancellations and standing waves. You might be able to hear A-B differences using headphones attached to speaker terminals that would not be audible with speakers in the same room.

Now go back to sleep.
