Your arguments don't support your conclusion.

DBT methodology can work down to the physical limits of hearing.

jj has pointed out that forced choice seems to increase the sensitivity of the audition.

Audiologists are able to determine whether hearing is normal or not as part of their day to day work.

There's nothing peculiar to DBT to induce performance anxiety. If forced choice bothers you, perhaps you need training.

If testing something else, perhaps, but it is precisely the ear-brain combination that is being tested. Just as the audiologists can test hearing, so can psychometricians test how sensitive hearing is.
