First thing is that DBT is not a device but a protocol.
Second, who says DBTs cannot be calibrated? Although one really must ask why it needs to be calibrated? (No, that's not a rhetorical question, it refers to the purpose of the DBT in question.)
According to jj, DBTs work down to the physical limits of hearing.
